The Great Wall Of China

1).We all know that the Great Wall of China is one of the 7 wonders of the world.

2).It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
HISTORY

During the 8th and 5th centuries BC, the Chinese were well accustomed to building walls. .These walls are made of stone or gravel to protect them from small weapons such as swords and spears, and the frame frames are sealed.

BC In the 3rd century, Xihuangdi, the first emperor of united China (under the Qin Dynasty), connected a number of existing defensive walls into a single system. It had no long branches or other secondary parts. It stretches for about 4,160 miles (6,700 km).

BC In the 7th century, the province of Chu began to build a permanent defense system, known as the "square wall" and was located in the northern part of the capital of the kingdom. In the southern part of Qi Province, a wide perimeter wall was systematically created using existing river ducks, newly built forts and mountainous terrain.

Also, if we talk about this design, it is more than 21,000 km long and the other specialty is that it is the longest man - made structure. And made of stone and finished on the shores of the Yellow Sea.It is estimated that between 2 and 3 million Chinese died as a result of the wall-building project that has been in operation for centuries.

The Great Wall actually consists of a number of walls, many of which were built parallel to each other over two millennia throughout northern China and southern Mongolia. The widest and most preserved version of the wall runs 5,500 miles (8,850 km) east and west from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).A wall system was built to prevent invasion from the southwestern provinces of Zhao and Qin. Yi had two defensive lines, the Hexi and the Henan.

The wall also serves as a serpent through the Chinese countryside in the mountains, about a quarter of which is made up of natural objects such as rivers and mountains. The remaining 70 percent is large walls, with small pits and moats.

      Should Be Considered

But now we hear from China that this historic site is slowly being destroyed due to some human activity. The foundation mortar on which the Great Wall rests has now been destroyed, and even a small amount of rain can cause the pillars of the wall to fall off. However, it is our responsibility to protect such places.
